On behalf of the Winnipeg Pin Collectors Club, I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year. May you be blessed with good health, prosperity and much happiness. The Winnipeg Pin Collectors Club has something to offer people of all ages from youths to adults to seniors.
This year the pin club is celebrating its 39th Anniversary. The pin club continues to grow and prosper thanks to ongoing support from our regular and corporate members as well as from the many new members who have joined our pin club in the past year. Our international pin club has members living in the USA, the United Kingdom, Denmark, France, Australia, The Netherlands, Germany as well as throughout Canada.
In 2025, besides our regular pin club meetings, special pin club events included a pizza party held in June at the Norwood Legion as well as regular silent auctions which were held at every pin club meeting. The silent auctions allowed club members the opportunity to sell some of their pins and collectibles. Our annual Christmas party was held in December at Club Regent Hotel’s Aalto’s buffet restaurant.
During 2025, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers hosted the 2025 Winnipeg Grey Cup Festival at the Convention Centre. As we have done for the past three Grey Cup Festivals which were held in Winnipeg in 1991, 2006 and 2015, our pin club coordinated pin trading for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. This turned out to be a big success with 64 new members joining the pin club. Many pin club members and hundreds of the general public from across Canada had a lot of fun taking part in the pin trading. Quite a few CFL fans showed up dressed in costume which added a lot of excitement to the festivities.
Our 2026 club pin features a set of four limited edition hummingbird pins. Only 75 sets were made of the hummingbird pins. The sets have proved to be so popular that we are very close to selling out. Pin sales are the pin club’s only source of income. As a result of this important source of income, the pin club no longer has a need to charge annual membership dues.
Throughout most of the pin club’s 39 year history, Laurie Artiss the Pin People have been the producers of our club pins. They have a reputation for excellence throughout the world which is very important to people who value having high quality pins in their collections.
It is FREE to become a pin club member. With your pin club membership, you will receive a free monthly newsletter containing club news, a Pins for Sale and/or Pins Wanted ad section, interesting pin related articles and an up-to-date 2026 membership list. Club members can place free ads in the monthly newsletters.
Pin club meetings are held at 6 PM on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Regular monthly meetings are held during the following months: March, April, May, June (Pizza Party), September, October and November. In December, we have our annual Christmas Party at Aalto’s Buffet restaurant, Club Regent Hotel, 1415 Regent Ave W, Winnipeg, MB, R2C3B2. Guests are always welcome.
I am encouraging all pin club members wishing to do some pin trading to please take the opportunity to reach out to their fellow pin club members either by email or phone. Contact information and a list of the types of pins collected by each member is provided to all pin club members in the form of the 2026 WPCC membership list.
I wish all of you the very best.
